Hope? or Change?  Read Michelle’s piece on this, including the link to La Shawn Barber . Here are a few:

Go ahead and Google it. They’re blasting it on the streets of Chicago, saying it like a prayer in Durham, singing it on campus, and putting it on their kids’ clothes in Harlem.

Yes, BonBon quite so! How about “My President is Wise” or “My President is Going to help America” or similar?

But to focus on race? They are Racists, ans they are bringing up a whole new generation of their own to focus on race. Gosh, I thought we were supposed to be moving beyond all that? Guess not…

Like you said Robert. They have built up an entire industry. The Ohmysigh might want to bankrupt the coal industry but the racist industry has to continue to be fed.

My President Elect is an intelligent well-spoken rational man who can string a sentence together on the fly without sounding like a moron.

I wish I could say the same about my President.

I get it. You’re still stuck in the mode of looking at President Elect Obama in the worst light possible. You just want Senator McCain to get elected.

It’s time to move past that. I know it will take the Republicans a while. But for the good of the nation; please hurry.

Again, it was for the good of the nation to stand behind our POTUS, but that didn’t happen did it, nor did I see you calling for it..When he actually accomplishes something, maybe we will.

Articulate? Obamuhh, Obama’s teleprompter hits the trail because of Obama the GaffeMeister

I guess I’ll ask you the question, Zelda, since Trailhead doesn’t seem to be able to or willing to answer. And this is a devil’s advocate question, for purposes of debate: Why should Obama, the democrites, or his supporters expect any better treatment for Obama than they gave Bush, starting the day after the 2000 election?

Why shouldn’t Republicans be screaming that Obama stole the election, sending teams of lawyers into places to file lawsuits, and using the MSM to propagate their claims?

    Why?

Black Americans (as Whoopi Goldberg so aptly put it on The View) can now feel like “yes I’m an American but I can finally put my suitcase down”.

They’ve EARNED this moment in the sun.

    Don’t be so small.

Well I don’t know what to say. The House is in the hands of the Democrats. The Senate is in the hands of the Democrats. The Presidency is in the hands of a Democrat. And you guys still think it’s people like me who don’t have a clue. Thanks a lot. The Democrats are going to be in power for a LONG time with Republican’s like you calling the shots.

I guess you can’t or won’t answer the question either, Zelda?

I’ll answer it then: There is no reason, and they have no entitlement, and frankly, Obama should be held to the same standard, the same criticism, the same micro opposition Bush got.

Let’s see…now, why would a bunch of people be proud of the fact that the president is black? What did the previous 43 look like. Oh, right…. Sheesh, people. Let them have their day in the sun! And you act like not ONE white person voted for McCain simply because he wasn’t black. Hypocrites.

    Robert;

I couldn’t get the links to work. Sorry about that but I gave up.

“Why should Obama, the democrats, or his supporters expect any better treatment for Obama than they gave Bush, starting the day after the 2000 election?”

Hmmm, you endlessly criticize the democrats and then ask why you should act differently from them. Do you not aspire to be better then the very Democrats you criticize.

    Robert;

Ok, I had to install some new software.

    I watched the two clips.
Have you ever seen any President Bush clips like this? I’ve seen plenty. I’m sure there are clips like that about Senator McCain also; but I’ve never bothered to look at them.

Zelda yes I have watched Bush news conferences and cringed. We know that, we acknowledge he is inarticulate.

But the subject here is Obama. He’s so articulate, so smart, so wonderful…uhhhh except ummm, you know, ummm when there’s no, uhhh, teleprompter.

Did you see his press conference today? He looked and sounded like he was surprised: Hey, I got the job—what do I do now?

The man actually looked like he could use a week of sleep.  The bags underneath his eyes hung down to his knees.  I’d appreciate it if he could learn to sleep once in awhile..we don’t need a zombie in the White House. :)

    Did I miss something?
    Obama’s black?
I thought president Elect Obama was 1/2 white?
The soon to be in office US president is 1/2 black.
A shirt that states my president ( black) is racist period.

People might finally find out that it is possible for someone of any race to be a racist. White kids have been taught for years to love all races – all well and good – and a lot of black people taught the opposite.
Also, how someone handles a win says a lot about how people will view them when they take the field in a future contest. There’s a reason a lot of NFL fans cheer when the Dallas Cowboys blow a game.

Yup. How long do you think a white church could keep its doors open with the Pastor spewing the pure hate that jeremiah Wright did (but Obama never heard)?

US media is the “King of Spin” and whosoever spins the best and the longets is the winner, regardless of the veracity of the statement presented. As such, let me correct the following:

    1. Rev Wright made a grammatical error is saying the words “God Damm America”.  If he would have been proper and precise in his oratory, he would/should have paused and it would end up like this- God Damn!  America, thereby extolling the wonderful benefits of this USA.  He is a veteran, as we all know and he served with distinction regading LBJ’s health and photo op that is a prerequisite for mobility in the day and age.  Within the context of the Rev. Wright’s speech, he never abrogated the rights of any citizen, he never passed laws to that effect but he did speak from the historical record of 250 years of denial, deceit and hypocracy!  Despite that legacy, he conducted himself with dignity as opposed to what we see around the world with disposseded people through armed struggle who will and have destroyed their own countries due to past inequity and savage treatment!  God Bless America and everplace else!

I took a look at this “post racial ideology” phrase/statemtn/concept as delineated by Shelby Steel and LaShawn (a real one!)  and no upright thinking person can believe that all such problems can be eradicated immediately. This is a fallacy at best! The principals of the ideology are right in that their own actions seek to redress and correct the inequities of the past and theycould not be responsible for others’ ignorance.
Young people voted for a change to the past 8 years and wanted to be involved with someone who was a possible vehicle! to implement that change. Again, Obama was not born in a manger, nor was he born by Immaculate Conception (as Rush tries to imply) and he was not anointed, appointed nor born on a throne.
Obama is not a Messiah and by all accounte if he were, he would be done away with like the real Messiah!
