Obama was lying to us when he dismissed Ayers as merely “a guy who lives in my neighborhood.” Axelrod and Mayor Daley had told us that, but Ayers is now publically speaking, after having his muzzle removed, and here is his belated confirmation.
“We had served together on the board of a foundation, knew one another as neighbors and family friends, held an initial fund-raiser at my house, where I’d made a small donation to his earliest political campaign,” he writes.
But right-wing commentators tried to use those connections to smear Obama, he says.
“Obama’s political rivals and enemies apparently saw an opportunity to deepen a dishonest narrative about him, that he is somehow un-American, alien, linked to radical ideas, a closet terrorist, a sympathizer with extremism,” Ayers wrote.
I am waiting to get some clips from his appearance on GMA this morning! Cuomo is supposed to ask him tough questions, so I will take that as a softball interview..We can’t have the truth getting in the way of The One! They didn’t take the time to vet this prior to the election, what makes you think they will do it now?

The Underground meant well, quite unlike those nasty jihadis and abortion-clinic bombers, whom Cuomo, to his credit, does bring up. The quote, incidentally, comes from Timothy Noah’s 2001 review of the book, which is worth reading for many reasons but foremost for his reclamation of a few Ayers blasts from the past that somehow didn’t end up in the final manuscript. Like this one, circa 1970: “Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that’s where it’s really at.” Thirty-one years later, he famously told the Times, “I don’t regret setting bombs.” The man is, if nothing else, consistent. Bear those two lines in mind as you watch him wheeze about how “dishonest” it is for people to try to demonize him and his old comrades.

Ayers adamantly denied that the Weather Underground engaged in terrorism because it didn’t “target people to kill and injure them.” Oh, yeah? Tell it to the families of Waverly Brown, Edward O’Grady, and Peter Paige.

It sounds pretty stupid because it is pretty stupid Common Sense..Just because you think something sounds great, doesn’t mean you should say it out loud, let aone write it out for others to see…
1. Those that worked with the serial killer had no idea that he was killing people, hence he was able to get away with it for so long..
2. Where do you come to the conclusion that those discussing the fact that Obama lied about his friendship with a domestic terrorist, are a majority of church goers..You obviously pulled that fact made up statistic, out of your ass.
3. Obama knew that William Ayers was the leader of the Weather Underground, a group of radicals that blew up federal buildings, hi-jacked armored trucks, and murdered people…He lied about their relationship..
Common Sense: So how come Obama seems to be attracted to so MANY like Wright, Phleger, Farrakhan, Rezko, Ayers, Dohrne, Khalidi, Asbahi, and the most extreme liberals and abortion extremists? He’s associated with them, not in SPITE of their extremism, but BECAUSE of it, and these aren’t “ships that pass in the night” associations, but long-term ones, and he’s never denounced ANY of them!
Pam & Dawn: We know there is no reasoning with some of these people, and that trying to convince them with facts would be a waste of time, but rebutting their statements may be of some value to other people, so we trudge on. We’ve lost a battle, sadly, the best man didn’t win this time, but our day will come again, as it always has, and decency, honor, and patriotism will return.

As far as 2000, and 2004, (Pam) the elections were indeed stolen. 2000 gwb lost the popular vote and turned to the supreme Court to place him in office. that was thanks to Katherine Harris, who was in a position to ensure the gwb win, out of debt to Jeb bush, her boss. 2004 was taken in Ohio, where there are records of plenty of disenfranchisement, to the point that the results were swayed. You don’t have to admit it, I don’t expect you to. But facts are facts, period. As far as the namecalling and personal attacks on me are concerned… Well, this is a right-wing board after all… I had to expect it. Seems these days that’s all the republicans can do.
One last point, for Lightnin… in 2004, if you recall, gwb “won” by a 50-ish percent margin… Right? and at his inauguration, do you remember what he said? He said I have a mandate…. I have some political capital and I fully intend to spend it. So which is it, a mandate when the republicans get 50-ish percent, or when ANY candidate gets over 50% of the popular vote? Just because SOME Americans were lazy and chose to sit on their asses instead of trying to make a difference (one way or the other) does not diminish the message received. Sorry that ALL Americans didn’t vote, but you know what? I did. 53% of the population that CHOSE to vote, voted for Obama. To me, that’s a mandate. To over 8 million more Obama voters than McCain voters, it is a mandate. If Obama were a republican, it would be a mandate to you as well, I am sure. (Rephrase, I bet, rather than I am sure.)

Turnout in last week’s election increased from four years ago but fell far short of some forecasts largely because many Republican voters either stayed home or left blank the presidential section of their ballots. Lastly, what does the international community have to do with our “popularity”? Have you ever studied the subject? Nazi Germany became the horror it was because it rejected Christianity and the clear teaching of sexuality. History seems to repeat itself if we allow it. And don’t forget Hitler did have Roehm shot—because he feared his power overtaking his rule. Wow, Germany was one sick perverted country and now we can understand one of the reasons why.

Very familiar. The homosexuals tend to be very vindictive, they never forget, and the radicals are quite willing/eager to engage in criminal activity.
It isn’t a huge leap from that mindset to creation a fascist movement that destroys anything that isn’t like it. Just like the 1930s.
It is time to get a life! Move On. The election is over. The electorate has spoken. So be good Americans. Find something more productive to be mad about. Get mad about the state of the economy. Get mad at how the “market place” was unable to correct obvious excesses. Get mad that your mantra: “less govt. is better govt.” has failed to produce anything but a disaster. Come up with some new ideas…not the same old ones that have failed.
