Unfortunately, and as we've discussed before, many of today's "conservatives" are not conservative, but rather, statists and neoconservatives, or neoliberals... This problem is particularly pronounced in the Blogosphere. It has also been a problem among the people of my generation - but that dilemma has been improving greatly, especially in the past couple of years.

(I suspect however, with the fact that a Democrat will soon be in the White House, more Republicans and conservatives will once again develop [at least to an extent], an anti-state mentality, and perhaps 'anti-war' [non-interventionist] as well... like we did, when Bill Clinton was president.)

Hi Robert. You know I've given alot of thought to this. O'Reilly spoke the other night and I've heard Laura Ingram say it as well. Exit polls show that most americans are middle or conservative. I believe that.

I think the republicans have lost their way. They are unorganized and went on a spending spree when they should have been on a spendTHRIFT spree. In any case, we need to reshape the party is some serious ways. I believe with all my heart that Sarah Palin, Michael Steele and Condoleeza Rice are just some of the new kinds of faces the republicans will see.

I also think there is a fair amount of voter fraud, and media bias that sway the uneducated voter.

As I tell my husband, there is nothing wrong with progressive thought but when an issue is out there it should be looked at with a conservative eye moving forward from there to an appropriate solution.

This a very timely and important question: what do the majority of Americans really want? The Leftists/Democrites have asserted the election of Obama proves Conservatism is dead and America really want to go Left.

I don't believe that; the Republicans lost their way and did not get all of the Conservative vote. Many voters voted for Obama because of the economy. And I've not heard anyone talk about it, but how much of the vote for Obama was fraud? I'll bet enough to tip the scales in some states.

The Republican party needs to get rid of the RINOs, find leadership, and get back to and stay on Conservative core principles if it ever wants my vote and support again.
