Looks Like The Bush Tax Cuts Are Here To Stay

Expiration date watch: Repealing the Bush tax cuts

I suppose the meltdown on Wall Street had a lot to do with those “considerations”.  The near-unanimous chorus from economists about the dangers of raising taxes in the middle of a recession may have produced those “considerations” as well.

Now that Obama has to actually govern his way out of a global financial collapse, he’s realizing that he needs all the capital he can get to invest back into economic growth. And that’s not a bad thing.

I believe the reason the President-elect picked Rahm to be his COS was to keep congressional Dems in line.As has been observed,he is a guy who gets things done.He just met with Repubs. to get any input they may have.I do think the new prez is determined to work across the aisle to get things done,to fix the problems.

Exactly, what did the above post have to do with it? Just that he is a pragmatic who probably will let them expire instead of voting to change them.Probably not the time.Sorry I left that out.

Allowing the tax cuts to expire while trying to renegotiate new ones would have been stupid..Deeper tax cuts are needed and if he is smart, he will try and get them passed!

The one thing I’m sure of with him is he is very smart. I know people question him,his motives and tactics but I truly believe he’ll get the best people he can regardless of where they come from and I also believe he’ll listen to various view points before he decides. I didn’t think I’d get that from Sen. McCain. I pray I’m right.I pray he does well.

LOL  He’s running the show so I guess we’ll have to wait and see what he does. I know he hasn’t been sworn in yet but what do you think so far? Do you think the right and the left will cut him some slack for a couple of months?
