Hey, don’t you know that the politicians are bound to bail out the auto industry?  For them, it’s all about votes and, if they don’t bail out the auto industry, the UAW will direct its millions of votes away from those slime dogs in the U.S. Congress.  Then they will lose the cushy jobs and perks that are paid for the the U.S. taxpayers.  Can’t have that, can we?  After the bailout and the auto makers start making money again, the UAW will again put the squeeze on GM, Chrysler and etc.  Then car prices will shoot up again and the taxpayer who got the shaft in the first place gets it again.  But hey, it’s just business, not personal, right?
