Nancy Pelosi on 60 Votes: “Now We Can Get Things Done Without Explaining Process”

Very exciting, very exciting for the American people, because now we can get things done without explaining process,” Pelosi told CNN’s Candy Crowley.

  1. Angry D.  The headline alone on this article is scary.  Yes, Pelosi and company actually really feel this way.  THEY are in charge, THEY are in control, and by golly if you don’t like it THEY will find a way to hurt you.

This is why republicans need our support right now.  I hope you are doing what I do and that is to write letters, emails, and make phone calls to your representatives to all levels of government.  I figure I alone may not make a difference but I’ll sure as hell put up a fight.

  2. I’m fighting, BonBon. I just got a new email from Michael Steele today, thanking me for the new ass I ripped him yesterday.

    Shiny.

  3. Now they can vote to burn the Constitution, and ban the Bill of Rights, on Freedom of Religion, Right to Bear Arms, and Freedom of Speech.

  4. ha ha ha

you losers just keep find ways to keep on losing! nice job!

  5. Yes Nancy, now the Demo’s can vote to destroy the Constitution, change the Bill of Rights to say “Freedom of Religion, with the exception of Christianity”, “Freedom of Speech, with the Exception of the Right”, and “Freedom to have The Leftist to forceably remove, guns from citizens, and give them to terrorist” O yes the Demo’s Brave New World.

  6. Appropriate name, Dum Dum. I doubt you’ll comprehend this, but the ultimate losers are the American people. No matter to cretins like you; you’ll be chewing your soylent green and babbling about how happy you are.

  7. Robert

Don’t try to talk to Liberals using common sense, its way over their heads. You would probably be better to walk outside to the nearest fire hydrant, sit on the curb and talk to it, The hydrant has as much ability to understand common sense as a liberal does. In both cases you’ll just be wasting your time.

  8. I’m sure dumdum won’t be back as he’s a liberal and liberals are generally cowards.  He’s probably just a troll who thought he would stop by and berate us who disagree.

But on the off chance he does come back I have a message for him.  Make no mistake about this.  When we are attacked by terrorists again there will be many on the conservative side of the aisle who will not cry “why didn’t Bush connect the dots” but rather “it’s time to impeach the most dangerous muslim in the world and that’s Barack HUSSEIN Obama”

  9. Yeah, I figured Dum Dum was just a hit-and-run troll. But I just couldn’t resist the opportunity to comment on his very appropriate self-chosen screen name lol!

  10. You know I did think it was a pretty stupid (but appropriate) name to use.  Glad you picked up on it.

  11. I think we all need to take a moment and consider that Dum Dum was perfectly correct: we losers HAVE been continually finding ways to get our asses kicked. Rasmusson polls commented last week that only 21% of Republicans think the party is representing their values.

Perhaps that explains why 15% of the conservative voters who voted in 2004 refused to vote in the 2008 presidential election. My Monkly Lodger abstained from the presidential vote, and he is nearly as conservative as I am.

We ARE finding new and inventive ways to lose. Republicans who drive away their core constituents will not muster enough votes to counter the leftists coming after them. They are organized. They know how to make pretty pictures to appeal to the idiot masses, and they are good at what they do.

Look at the math: in a tight senate race decided by 350 votes, the fact that 1100 conservatives who are angry at their representative’s previous lack of representation and stayed home is a deciding factor.

I call that losing– and BEING A LOSER.

Here’s what conservatives and Republicans just don’t get: the rules only apply to US:

When a democrat has an affair, comes out of the closet, or lies about raising taxes, it’s expected. Any media outcry (what little there is) is flashed in the pan and gone in days.

However, when a conservative who has spoken extensively on an anti-drug platform admits a substance abuse problem, or a Republican is caught in a media-manufactured “toe tapping” scandal, it is expected that we will punish our own by asking them to step down.

Women have claimed for years that they have to work twice as hard to be thought half as good and get three quarters of the pay. Conservatives are in the same boat. ANY time a Republican allows a tax increase or votes for a larger government with more control in our lives, he is departing from the core philosophy of the party.

Every time– EVERY SINGLE TIME– a Republican takes a liberal stance on something, anything, they alienate one of their constituents. Every time they raise their hand to vote for a tax increase one of their voters decides not to vote for them in disgust. EVERY TIME.

However, that vote doesn’t mean that they gain any respect or support from their liberal constituents, the ones who voted against them previously. All they did was erode their support.

Do it enough and you’ll find a way to lose elections McCain style. (It helps if you also hire a complete git to run your campaign. McCain’s program was the most incompetently run presidential campaign I’ve ever imagined.)

    Republicans need to:

    a) Keep their damn words. “Read my lips…” is a fine start, but there’s a little thing called “follow through.”
    b) Remember their damn values. I’m sick and tired of seeing Catholic church parking lots full of Obama/Biden bumper stickers. WTF? THEY ARE BOTH PRO-ABORTION! WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU VOTE FOR THEM IF YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BE CATHOLIC?!?
    c) Hold other people accountable for those same values. Why are Republicans not still going after Geithner for his tax history? Why does no Republican try to put together a committee to investigate tax fraud in the Obama nominations? Why did the bungling ass-clown in charge of the McCain campaign refuse– outright REFUSE– to attack Obama’s voting record and past connection to more than two dozen known anti-American radicals?

Moreover, WHY ARE THEY NOT STILL TALKING ABOUT IT NOW?

Were I in Congress, I would preface EVERY remark with, “Before we discuss Bill 30234-A I would like to remind the House that President Obama was mentored by an unashamed and unrepentant member of a terrorist group called the Weather Underground. Okay, with regards to the bill…”

Republicans HAVE found ways to continually lose. They have lost their integrity and their path. Until they find it again, they are going to CONTINUE to find ways to get asshammered in elections.

If a complete tool like Dum Dum can see this, maybe we need to start examining ourselves a bit, eh?

Show of hands: Who called one of their representatives this last week to express an opinion on one of their votes? I not only called MINE, I called that fool Jim McDermott’s office to express my opinion that I am convinced he sleeps with his head underwater.

Now that you’re done reading this, may I suggest you not even waste time commenting– use that time instead to call or email your elected representative. TELL THEM, do not ask them, what their votes need to be if they want you marking beside their name on the next ballot.

Then go tell two of your conservative friends to do the same thing. Like it or not, these are the representatives we have now. We either get them bent to our will, or we lose our country.

  12. AngryD, while you are right about what you say in general, I’d like to make two points:

    1. I think you give Dum Dum too much credit. He is a hit-and-run troll and I doubt anything else was in his consciousness when he posted. Certainly not the expansion you have presented.
    2. The Republicans are losers. That’s why I am a Conservative, not a Republican. I no longer identify with them. Until they get their act together I won’t, and I won’t support them financially.

  13. Oh I wasn’t giving Dum Dum any credit. My point was merely, “Out of the mouths of the complete fvcking tool comes the occasional burst of disconnected wisdom.”

And I agree, Republicans ARE losers. Unfortunately, when it comes to conservative representation, there’s the Republicans and there’s not much else. Either we bend them back to us, or we form our own party and do our own thing.

Who has time for that? I barely have time to chase Dave Reichert around and call him on his baloney energy positions, much less abandon my beloved current career to run for my own public office.

I endorsed Blue Dog democrat Jim Vaughn for Reichert’s seat this last election, and I plan to do so again in 2010 unless Dave gets his act together, of which no signs are currently forthcoming. I endorsed Jim Vaughn because, frankly, when I looked at his platform, despite the word “democrat” in his affiliation, he was nearly as conservative as I am. We differed on ONE point (Kyoto accords.)

But the Republicans that are in office now are the ones we need to wake up, and the dems that are in office now are the ones we need to order.

I’ve said many times from my blog and in comments on others: if you’re not calling Nancy Pelosi at least once a week to tell her to get off her ass and drill ANWR then you are a part of the problem. So what if she’s a democrat and you voted for the Republican? So what if she’s not your direct representative? She’s the Speaker of the House. Her job is to represent ALL of us. I called Jim McDermott because he represents Washington, and even though he doesn’t represent my district, he DOES represent the state I grew up in (and now can’t wait to move out of again.) Let your voice be heard and your opinion be known.
