Gee, let’s see about that statement. Huntsman is not switching parties, but is going to accept an ambassadorship under a Democratic POTUS. He was the youngest U.S. ambassador at the time when he was named envoy to Singapore in 1992. This is a political appointment. This has no effect on the votes in the Senate.
Specter had voting rights as an elected Republican. He switched political parties, giving the Democrats a larger edge in voting to push their socialistic agenda through.
