Gateway Pundit: Hypocrisy Alert: Dem Rep. Pete Stark Called Bush Liar On House Floor… Twice (Video).

The House democrats will vote today to discipline Rep. Joe Wilson for calling President Obama a liar on the House floor during his speech to the nation that was riddled with misleading statements, misrepresentations and, welllies.

But, of course, democrats didn’t bat an eye when Rep. Pete Stark called President Bush a liar on the House floor… Twice… In the same speech.

Ironic Surrealism reported:

Raw Story has the entire transcript:

First of all, I’m just amazed that they can’t figure out– the Republicans are worried that we can’t pay for insuring an additional ten million children. They sure don’t care about finding $200 billion to fight the illegal war in Iraq. Where are you gonna get that money? You gonna tell us lies, like you’re telling us today? Is that how you’re going to fund the war? You don’t have the money to fund the war or children, but you’re going to spend it to blow up innocent people, if we could get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the President’s amusement.

This bill would provide health care for ten million children and, unlike the President’s own kids, these children can’t see a doctor or receive necessary care. Six million are insured through the Children’s Health Insurance Program and they’ll do better in school, and in life. In California, the President’s veto will cause the legislature to draw up emergency regulations to cut some 800,000 children off the rolls in California and create a waiting list.

I hope my California Republican colleagues will understand that if they don’t vote to override this veto, they are destroying health care for many of our children in California.

In the previous job as an actor, our Governor used to play make-believe and blow things up. Well, [the] President and Republicans in Congress are playing make-believe today with children’s lives. They claim we can’t afford health care. They say the bill will socialize medicine. Tell that to Orrin Hatch, Chuck Grassley and Ted Stevens, those socialists on the other side of this capitol. The truth is: [The] CHIP program enables states to cover children primarily through private health care plans. But, President Bush’s statements about children’s health shouldn’t be taken any more seriously than his lies about the war in Iraq. The truth is that Bush just likes to blow things up… in Iraq, in the United States, and in Congress.

I urge my colleagues to vote to override his veto. America’s children need and deserve health care, despite the President’s desire to deny it to them.

Ed:

If “You lie” qualifies as “hateful rhetoric”, then Stark’s lunatic rant should qualify for a gold medal in the lympic event. Did Democrats, enjoying the first year of their majority, vote to censure Stark for calling the President a liar — or more egregiously, for claiming that Bush enjoyed seeing Americans and Iraqis die for his “amusement”? No, although Stark did get a warning from the presider after Republicans complained repeatedly about his insults.

If Pelosi wants to censure Wilson, then she has unfinished business from 2007 to attend first.

I’ve posted before about what a disgraceful pos Fortney “Pete” Stark is. I’ve hated this pos for more than 20 years.  And once again this issue displays the militant arch hypocrisy of the Left and their double standards as wide as the Grand canyon.

You are right, Pam. I have hated Stark passionately since the early 1980s because he is such a verminous Boll Weevil;  a classic example of what is wrong in America. In fact, if Stark would only  follow  ChapaTraitor’s recent leadership example, perhaps Stark could petition the Devil for a location somewhere nearby TK himself.
I remember reading an article in the local SF Bay Area propaganda rag (the San Francisco Comical) written by Stark attacking the National Guard. The article argued that funding should be cut way back; Stark was arguing the Guard is unneeded and useless. In characteristic fashion, he had to throw in a low-blow insult:  “…the Guard can’t even fight it’s way home after a long weekend.” Stark had been an officer briefly in the Cal Guard during Vietnam; likely to escape the draft. I knew Stark was referring to the nature and character of his own service; just a place to hideout from the War and with interest in real service to the country.
At the time I was a young, highly-motivated Staff Sergeant in the California Army National Guard, an Infantry Rifle Squad Leader. I had volunteered in 1976 not for cash bonuses or other incentives (there weren’t any back then) or to hide out, but as a bicentennial birthday gift to the Nation. My squad was motivated as well; we consistently rated as being at the highest level of readiness possible for a Guard Combat Arms unit which placed us in the category of being most deployable for combat.
So it was with extreme anger that I read the insulting article from this asshole Stark. I even wrote a letter to the editor of The Comical that characterized Stark for what he was.
Over the years  Stark would periodically resurface in the news, like a persistent turd that won’t go down even with multiple toilet flushes. It was always about some leftist anti-American bandwagon cause he had jumped on, or a report of another insulting outburst in Congress directed at someone he disagreed with. he was/is a  genuinely reprehensible POS.
Now I wonder just how many of these douchebags in the MSM or the apparatchiks writing their letters to the editor, outraged over Joe Wilson, were angered or outraged when maggot Stark publicly called Pres. Bush a liar not once but twice? I’d be willing to bet money they were instead amused, entertained, in agreement, or even reveling in it.
But now, oh my! They are shocked, outraged! Total, complete, pos hypocrite vermin. And if this wasn’t a respectable venue, I’d write what I really think about them.

The Gestapo has decreed, its only wrong to call a Marist a liar, never wrong to call a good American the same thing.

President Bush did lie about the reasons for war in Iraq.  The representative was correct.  Stark and Wilson’s comments are no where near similar.

Yeah, the comments are the same thing. The same venue, and the speaker was accusing the President of lying. If anything Stark’s are more egregious because he said it twice.
