 When Democrats Go Post-al Indeed

att00019.gif

Oh my how I do love to read of tantrums on the left! James Wolcott tells you of the Kossacks dividing over Hillary and Barack, while Matt just realized that he has been marginalized by the very people he helped to put in power.

And then there are the number of people who take issue with a basic request for competence at the Obama campaign with regards to communications. People apparently don’t want Obama sending out talking points or talking to bloggers, preferring that bloggers stay independent. Well excuse me, why do you think Obama surrogates suck on TV? They aren’t getting fucking talking points, you idiots. How do you think this works?

While we’re on Obama, consider the ridiculous defenses of Obama going on Fox News and lying about his intent to ‘take them on’, to which I could refer you to Chris’s post once again. The straw men arguments were just disgusting and out in force.

The DNC Pulls A DNC On Their McCain Attack Ad

Watch this

“>

Now look at these picture via Confederate Yankee

The soldiers are on screen for just a split-second, just long enough for viewers to see that there was an explosion, but not long enough to know if the soldiers pictured survived uninjured, if they were wounded, or if they were killed.
And because it matters, both U.S. soldiers survive the blast

Where did the images come from?

Even more unbelievably, the IED clip comes from Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11. It’s at about 1:35 in this trailer: Fahrenheit 9/11 trailers.

The ad is based on “a rank falsehood”:

The DNC’s message portrays McCain as bent on fighting an “endless” war in Iraq.

DNC: We can’t afford four more years with a President who fights an endless war in Iraq. … On the war, McCain scoffed at Bush’s call to leave troops in Iraq for 50 years, saying “Make it a hundred!”

Is This A Joke: Is Jeremiah Wright a colossal disaster for Barack Obama or a press trick?

That is the question asked by the NY Daily News. I think Jeff summed it up best:

Barack Obama’s Manhattan campaign office, located in the newsroom of The New York Times, is spinning Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s incendiary comments at the National Press Club away from the Illinois senator. The headline says it all: Not Speaking for Obama, Pastor Speaks for Himself, at Length.

He also wrote a book, “The Great Media War: A Battlefield Report”, so if you have the time, it’s a good read! But back to this ‘trick’…

Brent Baker points out: Only ABC Focuses on Wright’s Inanity, All Showcase Shot at Cheney

 SCOTUS: Voter ID Laws Constitutional

Court rejects voter ID challenge; no new grants

The Supreme Court, voting 6-3, on Monday rejected a constitutional challenge to Indiana’s law requiring voters to show a government-issued photo ID before they may cast a ballot. Three Justices said the evidence offered against the requirement in Indiana did not support a challenge to the law as written — that is, a “facial” challenge – and three others said the law only imposed a minimal and justified burden on voters. Three Justices dissented. The decision means that the law will be enforced without a legal cloud over it in the presidential primary election in Indiana on May 6. About half of the states have such laws.

And for those of you that missed it, Justice Scalia was on 60 Minutes last night. Here is the CBS link. Content warning..Lesley Stahl is just a dullard, so proceed with caution :)

“We strategically know how to stop the city so people stand still and realize that you do not have the right to shoot down unarmed, innocent civilians,” Sharpton told an overflow crowd of several hundred people at his National Action Network office in the historically black Manhattan neighborhood. “This city is going to deal with the blood of Sean Bell.”

I’m kind of sick of David Blaine and his goofey tricks. I want to see if Al really can shut down NYC. That would be a cool trick.

 The Clinton Dream Lives!

Fresh from a big win in Pennsylvania, Hillary’s campaign is back on track. Money is coming in, she is ahead in the aggregate popular vote, and she picks up badly-needed delegates. Obama’s campaign is stumbling badly, long past the point when he should have finished off his opponent.

The Clinton dream of returning to the White House isn’t dead by any means, in fact it has new life. Since Bill was America’s first “black” president, Hillary’s dream is to be America’s first “black” female president.

And as for Obama, he can go back on the Democrat virtual plantation. How dare he challenge the Party Elite! What was he thinking? This is Hillary’s nomination! Always was!

The Clinton dream…

Palestinians: “The only thing he achieved was permission on the part of Khaled Meshaal of Hamas to deliver a letter from a detained Israeli soldier to his family. Nothing else,”

I guess they see what we saw:

“President Carter came to the region thinking he could achieve something. Unfortunately president Carter left without anything concrete,” he told a conference in the Spanish capital.

“The only thing he achieved was permission on the part of Khaled Meshaal of Hamas to deliver a letter from a detained Israeli soldier to his family. Nothing else,” he said.

“Hamas offered nothing to president Carter. They reiterated the same positions. There was no change on the part of Hamas,” Malki added.

Carter’s meetings with top Hamas leader Meshaal and his deputy in Syria angered Israel and the United States, which consider the movement a terror group despite its victory in 2006 elections.

He was unable to secure a ceasefire or a prisoner exchange for an Israeli soldier seized by Gaza militants in 2006, but on Monday Carter said Hamas told him it would recognise Israel’s right to exist such a deal was approved by a Palestinian vote.

From Roll Call

After days of castigating Republicans for allegedly stalling a veterans benefits package, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) himself decided to postpone the start of the debate — and, indeed the start of Wednesday’s session — until 5 p.m. in order to accommodate the schedules of his party’s presidential hopefuls, Democratic sources said.

The “Pelosi Premium” On Rising Gasoline Prices

I’m glad the Republicans cornered her on the prices:

House Republican leaders on Tuesday challenged Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to release a plan to lower gas prices that they say Democrats touted when they were in the minority.

“Two years ago this week, you stated that House Democrats had a ‘commonsense plan’ to ‘lower gas prices,’ ” the letter said. “In light of the skyrocketing gasoline prices affecting working families and every sector of our struggling economy, we are writing today to respectfully request that you reveal this ‘commonsense plan’ so we can begin work on responsible solutions to help ease this strain.”

The letter is signed by Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio), Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), Conference Chairman Adam Putnam (R-Fla.), Policy Chairman Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.) as well as other members of leadership: Reps. Kay Granger (R-Texas), John Carter (R-Texas), Tom Cole (R-Okla.) and Eric Cantor (R-Va.).

The Science is In; Liberalism is a Form of Mental Illness

liberal-mind-web-1.jpg

For more than 20 years I have been saying Liberalism is a form of mental illness, a conclusion based on heuristics and anecdotal observations and examples. I was a voice in the wilderness back then, but others have come to the same conclusion. It is now beginning to look like consensus, and with the addition of Science it is at least as valid a theory as human-caused Global Warming, and arguably more so.

Dr. Lyle Rossiter provides the Science with his study titled “The Liberal Mind: The Psychological causes of Political Madness”.

Here is an excerpt:

“Modern liberalism’s irrationality can only be understood as the product of psychopathology. So extravagant are the patterns of thinking, emoting, behaving and relating that characterize the liberal mind that its relentless protests and demands become understandable only as disorders of the psyche.” The Liberal Mind reveals the madness of the modern liberal for what it is: a massive transference neurosis acted out in the world’s political arenas, with devastating effects on the institutions of liberty.

The New Willie Horton Ad Asks “Can a man so weak in the war on gangs be trusted in the war on terror?”

In his new ad Brown tells of a woman leaving church choir practice who was killed by gang gunfire while shielding her 6-year-old daughter, a 15-year-old boy beaten with bricks after a gang member crashed into his car, and a 14-year-old boy shot five times in the back for refusing to flash a gang hand sign.

“They all died in 2001. In Chicago,” the voice-over declares.

That same year, Barack Obama — then an Illinois state senator — voted against expanding the death penalty for gang-related murders, the ad points out.

The ad concludes, “When the time came to get tough, Obama chose to be weak. So the question is: Can a man so weak in the war on gangs be trusted in the war on terror?”

Fred Marcano explains:

He joined only two other senators in voting against a bill to forbid convicts on probation from having contact with street gangs, and he voted against a bill to expand the death penalty to gang-related murders.

 Mayor Daley Likes Terrorists Too

Isn’t this special? He said tar and PinocchioBama in the same sentence so smallish_thatsracist.gif…he also had good things to say about Terrorist Ayers ayers.jpg, but really, what’s the big deal? He only “killed two policemen and assisted in the bombing of government buildings as a member of the notorious Weather Underground in the 1960s and 70s.” I can see why Michelle Obama would hand pick him for Board of the Woods Foundation. No one takes ethics more seriously than Mayor Daley!

The Democrat Math On Republican Filibusters: February 29, 2008= 72 Vs April 15, 2008= 65

Duane R. Pattersonprovided the pictures and the following commentary:

Why the discrepancy, you ask? The Democrats seem to have a living, breathing definition of the word filibuster. It seems if the Democrats block judicial nominations, Reid and Schumer count it as a Republican filibuster. If Chris Dodd, Democrat from Connecticut, filibusters the FISA reform bill, Reid and Schumer count that as a Republican filibuster. If Democrats vote unanimously or near-unanimously with the Republicans to uphold a filibuster and beat a bill, as has happened on almost a dozen occasions, that counts as a Republican filibuster.

Harry Reid, despite the fact he has trouble with two digit numbers, also took to the floor yesterday morning, and made the following remarks about fellow Americans visiting the United States Capitol:
