Here is the background of what was promised, when it was promised and who promised it. I cut the article up so please read it in its entirety:

Veterans of the Philippine armed services believe that either President Roosevelt or General MacArthur promised them full U.S. veterans’ benefits. However, we will hear today testimony from the Army historians and the Congressional Research Service who are unable to locate any documentation of such promises…….

 NICKELODEON IS BRAINWASHING YOUR CHILD?

Much has already been said about a new show on Nickelodeon. ArmyWifeToddlerMom provided the link to a show, “Rebels With A Cause”, hosted by Linda Ellerbee.

Pay particular attention to the second and fourth stories.

This Nickelodeon “news program”, is not a news program. It is a leftist primer on how to be a “left-wing radical REBEL”.

I am not a blind follower of our Government, and I also think that Government should be watched by it’s citizens. It is our civic duty.

However this program led by Ellerby, is anti-war, anti- GWOT, anti-military.

This “news program” is not about people changing the World around them.

Ms. Ellerby uses leftist propaganda buzz words like “taking on the establishment”.

She shows a group of “tweenagers” walking around in orange jumpsuits, hooded and yelling from a bullhorn. “We are not ok, with people being tortured by American soldiers!” “Are cooperation’s priority over human lives?”

The Democrats refuse to allow public scrutiny of all earmarks.

John Boehner, Republican leader in the House of Representatives, wrote this op-ed in the WSJ. Many of you feel the same way I do about earmarks, they need to be brought under control by both parties. Here is a pieced together excerpt from his column.

The Democratic majority came to power in January promising to do a better job on earmarks. They appeared to preserve our reforms and even take them a bit further. I commended Democrats publicly for this action.
Unfortunately, the leadership reversed course. Desperate to advance their agenda, they began trading earmarks for votes, dangling taxpayer-funded goodies in front of wavering members to win their support for leadership priorities.

Time to Boycott Miller Beer again!

Organizers of San Francisco’s Folsom Street Fair (content warning) sponsored by Miller Brewing Co. — have portrayed Christ and his disciples as half-naked homosexual sadomasochists in the event’s promotional advertisement, and the conservative group Concerned Women for America is complaining about the hypocrisy of it.

“The bread and wine representing Christ’s broken body and lifegiving blood are replaced with sadomasochistic sex toys in this twisted version of Da Vinci’s The Last Supper,” CWA said on its Web site.

“‘Gay’ activists disingenuously call Christians ‘haters’ and ‘homophobes’ for honoring the Bible, but then lash out in this hateful manner toward the very people they accuse,” said said Matt Barber, CWA’s policy director for cultural issues.

Another Cut And Run Failure For The Democrats

Friday’s vote finished a week of disappointments for Democrats

The Senate rejected legislation Friday that would have ordered most U.S. troops home from Iraq in nine months, culminating a losing week for Democrats who failed to push through any anti-war proposal. The vote, 47-47, fell 13 votes short of the 60 needed to pass. (Captain Ed says: In a sign that the Democrats have lost the momentum on its retreat policy, the bill garnered five less votes than a similar proposal earlier this summer.)

On Wednesday, the Senate rejected legislation by Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., that would have guaranteed troops more time at home; it fell by a 56-44 vote with 60 votes needed to advance. On Thursday, the Senate blocked legislation sponsored by Reid and Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis., that would have cut off funding for combat in June 2008. That measure failed by a 70-28 vote, 32 votes short of 60.

UPDATE: The source says regardless of the NYPD’s rejection of the request for a Ground Zero tour, Iran’s president and his entourage will be accompanied by a Secret Service protective detail, a detail provided to all heads of state when they visit the United States.

Mayor Rudy Giuliani released the following statement on Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad:

“Under no circumstances should the NYPD or any other American authority assist President Ahmadinejad in visiting Ground Zero. This is a man who has made threats against America and Israel, is harboring bin Laden’s son and other al-Qaeda leaders, is shipping arms to Iraqi insurgents and is pursuing the development of nuclear weapons. Assisting Ahmadinejad in touring Ground Zero - hallowed ground for all Americans - is outrageous.”

Hypocricy Watch

George Soros, self-appointed arch nemesis of George W. Bush and all the things the President loves, has purchased a major big stake in Halliburton, of all companies. How long until MoveOn.org starts to receive money gained by Halliburton’s illicit billions? (Update: Then again, it seems evil corporations are incredibly lucrative. So Soros is a keen businessman—this we knew. But he is also a bleeding hypocrite.)

How does MoveOn.org feel about halliburton?

Al Gore Nominated For Nobel Peace Prize

Al Gore was nominated for the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize.  Not quite sure what global warming has to do with peace, but then again Arafat and Carter won the prize!

Allah lays out his odds:

I’d say he’s the favorite. He’s got competition from a local boy who brought calm to Indonesia and of course you can’t count out the Chinese Muslim, who, after all, belongs to a religion founded on peace. But they can always get it later. There’s an election coming up in America and nothing would put wind in the Gorebot’s sails among the left like a head pat from one of the international community’s most august institutions. It’d be an A++ on John Kerry’s “global test.” The Committee’s got a track record for playing politics with the award, too. Remember back a few years ago when they tweaked Bush by giving it to Jimmy Jew-blamer?

Sticker shock for Massachusetts universal health insurance

January 20, 2007 10:11 AM

Filed in: Smack of the Week, National News

That didn’t take long for the problems to begin:

  • A state panel yesterday outlined for the first time the minimum requirements for coverage under the state’s new health insurance law, a package estimated to cost $380 a month on average for an individual, more than $100 above recent estimates.
  • The minimum plan would limit annual out-of-pocket expenses to $5,000 for an individual and $7,500 for a family and include prescription drug coverage, according to the proposal by a subcommittee of the Commonwealth Health Insurance Connector board, which is implementing the new law. The full board will vote on the proposal Monday.
  • The estimate of $380 a month in premiums came from a summary of initial bids by insurance companies. Actual premiums will not be set for months.
  • As proposed, deductibles would run no higher than $2,000 per individual and $4,000 per family. Before the deductible kicks in, the plan would have to cover some medical visits and generic drugs to encourage preventive care. Insurers could not set limits on coverage per sickness, year, or lifetime, nor could they set a dollar maximum of coverage for any medical service.

The WSJ provided this letter, and said the gist is basically: “the two Senators believe global warming is a fact, and therefore all debate about the issue must stop and ExxonMobil should “end its dangerous support of the [global warming] ‘deniers.’ ” Not only that, the company “should repudiate its climate change denial campaign and make public its funding history.” And in extra penance for being “one of the world’s largest carbon emitters,” Exxon should spend that money on “global remediation efforts.”

ABC Drama Marks 50th Anniversary of 9/11

(2051-09-11) Reported by Scott Ott!

As part of the nation’s month-long celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, ABC television tonight will show an educational drama called ‘The Path from 9/11‘.

The docudrama recounts the initial resistance to global jihad mounted by the infidels of the former United States of America in the immediate aftermath of the great martyrdom operation.

But then the tide turns in favor of the budding Islamic caliphate (Allah be praised!). As memories of the 2001 attacks fade, world opinion turns against the Great Satan. Then the Great Satan turns on itself, consumed from within by a toxic combination of political ambition and cowardice masquerading as tolerance.

The Path from 9/11: A Triumph of the Will illustrates the righteousness of Usama Bin Laden’s cause, and how his unswerving commitment to jihad ensured the establishment of our glorious global Caliphate, upon which today the sun never sets.

 Legislating Sin

Katherine HarrisRep. Katherine Harris (R-Fla.) said this week that God did not intend for the United States to be a “nation of secular laws” and that the separation of church and state is a “lie we have been told” to keep religious people out of politics.

If you’re not electing Christians, then in essence you are going to legislate sin

Because religious people currently sitting in elected office are without ’sin’ - right? Don’t even get me started on that one - I’d be here all year.

If the separation of church and state is a complete fabrication with the explicit intent to keep religious people out of politics, then I ask when, and who?

Who was the last religious person to be kept out of politics under the pretense of such a separation?

Through sneaky methods, lies and deceit - Cindy Sheehan (remember her?) has secured a permanent residence in Crawford, Texas.

An associate of Sheehan’s, one Gerry Fonseca from Gold Star Families For Peace, purchased a 5-acre parcel for $52K in Crawford. Mr. Fonseca purchased the land with money from Sheehan’s son’s life insurance policy.

Because they knew that Sheehan would have difficulty purchasing land in Crawford herself, Mr. Fonseca posed as a Hurricaine Katrina evacuee and purchased it for Cindy Sheehan - - who apparently has issues with facing up to her reputation and hid behind a tree (or something) while the land was purchased for her.

“I feel deceived,” said Celia Ramsey, who sold the land to Cindy Sheehan through a third party. She talked to News Channel 25 exclusively on the matter. “I would have never sold it to Sheehan. Nobody wants them here.”

 KOFI ANNAN’S DRUG DEALERS

From The New York Post

U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan is so busy hectoring the United States and its allies on their supposed moral shortcomings, he cast a blind eye to the international drug-trafficking operation that was being run out of his mailroom.
Say this for Annan: On his watch, the United Nations has become an equal-opportunity corrupter of the first order: Fraud, sleaze and criminality can be found at all levels, not just the highest ones.
Remember the Oil-for-Food scandal, the multibillion-dollar ripoff that enriched Saddam Hussein, any number of U.N. officials and other diplomats - and even Annan’s own son?
The drug dealing doesn’t approach that level - what could?
But officials this week busted a ring that’s smuggled tons of khat - an illegal East African stimulant - into this country over the past year and a half. The stash has a street value of some $10 million, and the proceeds reportedly helped finance Somali warlords.
In all, 44 people were indicted on federal drug charges (14 remain at large). Named as one of the four ringleaders was Osman Osman, a Somali clerk in the U.N. mailroom, where he’s worked since 1977.
According to the federal indictment handed down in Manhattan, the ring used U.N. diplomatic pouches to smuggle the narcotics into the United States.
All of this comes less than two months after Annan’s deputy, Mark Molloch Brown, publicly blasted the Bush administration for “failing to stand up for [the U.N.] against its domestic critics.” Annan, needless to say, applauded his aide’s remarks.
Maybe, just maybe, all that criticism is justified.

Nobel Peace Prize Winner:”Right now, I would love to kill George Bush.”

I kid you not

NOBEL peace laureate Betty Williams displayed a flash of her feisty Irish spirit yesterday, lashing out at US President George W.Bush during a speech to hundreds of schoolchildren.
Campaigning on the rights of young people at the Earth Dialogues forum, being held in Brisbane, Ms Williams spoke passionately about the deaths of innocent children during wartime, particularly in the Middle East, and lambasted Mr Bush.

“I have a very hard time with this word ‘non-violence’, because I don’t believe that I am non-violent,” said Ms Williams, 64.

“Right now, I would love to kill George Bush.” Her young audience at the Brisbane City Hall clapped and cheered.

“I don’t know how I ever got a Nobel Peace Prize, because when I see children die the anger in me is just beyond belief. It’s our duty as human beings, whatever age we are, to become the protectors of human life.”

The New York Times are at it again! I am beginning to wonder if they are being paid for their tip offs!

The Bush administration is rushing a delivery of precision-guided bombs to Israel, which requested the expedited shipment last week after beginning its air campaign against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, American officials said Friday.
The decision to quickly ship the weapons to Israel was made with relatively little debate within the Bush administration, the officials said. Its disclosure threatens to anger Arab governments and others because of the appearance that the United States is actively aiding the Israeli bombing campaign in a way that could be compared to Iran’s efforts to arm and resupply Hezbollah.
