Default Senate committee rejects Bush anti-terror plan

Senate committee rejects Bush anti-terror plan
Associated Press & Reuters, by Staff

Washington - Defying President Bush, a Senate committee passed a terrorism tribunal bill Thursday protecting foreign suspects’ rights. The 15-9 vote came hours after former Secretary of State Colin Powell protested harsh interrogations of terror suspects as the president lobbied personally for it on Capitol Hill. /break/ in a letter that Powell sent to Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., one of three rebellious senators taking on the White House. Powell said Congress must not pass Bush’s proposal to redefine U.S. compliance with the Geneva Conventions
If this isn't bad enough, some of these yokels actually believe they should be president. And the RNC will support them to boot!

Ridiculous. Powell should know better. If we allow what european courts define as "harsh" interrogation tactics to dictate to us how we treat terrorist then we are in real trouble. They cut off, no I'm sorry, SAW off peoples heads on live TV, purposely strike non-military targets to maximize terror and use women and children as shields however we are not allowed to "cause any feelings of fear or physically treat in any way a detainee that might cause bodily discomfort or harm".HELLO! Are these people truly this stupid? I guess so. I say scrap the Geneva convention. The US, England and Israel are the only ones that everyone in the world demands follow it anyway.
